After being sick for so long (and still recovering), today I turned in my resignation from the Sun City Center Emergency Squad. I doubt that my energy will ever recover to the point that I can be up at 6 a.m. and volunteer every eight days. Yes, I loved working there, but it takes more energy than I have. Maybe with that off my calendar, I can relax and feel truly well. Even my captain agreed with my decision.

For the past three weeks I’ve had almost constant diarrhea that really wiped me out! Finally I’m improving but still worn out. Last Sunday I was taken by ambulance to South Bay Hospital where they ran a whole battery of tests. And I had a phone call with Dr. Marquez, my primary care physician. I felt like I’d never recover. Today I am feeling slightly better. I still don’t know what caused it. I was tested for covid and flu and I didn’t have either. I do have a UTI which isn’t surprising. I’m taking several meds and which I’m sure help in my recovery.

I’ve lost 10 pounds and look like HELL!!

Since I’m so weak, I’m spending lots of time in bed. Drinking juices, water, and Pedeolite. In fact I’m about to head back to get more rest.
